The Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do was originated in Korea more than 2,000 years ago. Today, Tae Kwon Do has evolved into not only the most effective method of weaponless self-defense but an intricate art, an exciting sport and a trenchant method of maintaining physical fitness. It combines sharp, strong, focused execution with graceful and free-flowing movements to produce a harmonious blend of beauty and power, both physical and mental. |

Tae Kwon Do is the art and philosophy of Kicking and Punching and used for many centuries as the strongest means of self-defense in Korea, Tae Kwon Do has evolved as one of the world's most powerful and effective Martial Arts forms. Through disciplined practice of techniques for blocking, punching, striking and kicking, we learn the most effective Martial Art to defend ourselves effectively against vicious attacks and to deliver counterattacks when necessary. Though in actual fighting its application is awesome, Tae Kwon Do has far greater merits for its ability to promote physical and mental discipline to its fullest potential, thus helping us to become a more well-rounded individual. |

| Many think that breaking boards and bricks is what Tae Kwon Do consists of, but this is entirely a misconception of the art. Demonstrations displaying such feats merely show the power and speed the human body is capable of utilizing through Tae Kwon Do training. Tremendous skill and control are required in Tae Kwon Do. While blocking, kicking, and punching techniques all contribute to making Tae Kwon Do one of the most exciting and competitive sports, its challenge lies in the adept use of techniques without having actual body contact. Complete control over punching and kicking movements is paramount stopping just centimeters short of the opponent. |

Tae Kwon Do training strives to develop the individual as a whole. Physical strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, and balance are fundamental to the art. However, true mastery of this ancient art requires the development of the equally important mental capacities: Patience, Humility, Self-Control, Discipline, and Humanitarian Values. |

| Through the coordination of control, balance and technique in the performance of Hyungs (Patterns), Tae Kwon Do is regarded as a beautiful and highly skilled Martial Art. It is one of the most all-round methods of physical fitness for it uses, burns, and tones every single muscle of the body. |
